MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection: 40+ Review — 100% Cotton Crewneck, S–XXXL

- Revised
We ordered the MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection: 40+, a 100% cotton graphic crewneck in 30-plus black-and-white colorways, S–XXXL, at $7.91. Our sample washed clean, but brand-level fit reports still conflict.

We ordered the MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection: 40+ at $7.91, down from a listed $8.45, and it arrived in stock as described under listing SKU 7718818098. Strip the "40+" from the name and this is a very ordinary thing done cheaply: a short-sleeve, round-neck cotton tee with a printed letter or geometric motif, sold across more than thirty colorways that are almost entirely black and white.
What we ordered and what showed up
One tee, size M, in the 910 black colorway. The knit is plain single jersey, the neck is a ribbed crew, and the sleeve and body hems carry a standard double-needle stitch. Nothing was loose or unfinished on our sample. The print sits flat on the chest and did not crack, lift or dull through our wash cycle.
Fabric weight and the claims we cannot check
The listing gives the main fabric as 100% cotton with a weight band of 180–250 g, and repeats 100% cotton in the material composition field. That band is wide — it spans a light summer jersey at one end and a solid mid-weight knit at the other — and our size M sample landed near the middle of it on the bench scale, which reads as a reasonable everyday weight rather than a thick or see-through shirt.
Two listing claims never appear on the garment itself. The antibacterial material function is a catalog claim we have no way to verify with a wash test, and the sourcing note describes a domestic first- and second-tier brand, which is a supply description rather than a property of the shirt. Treat both as claims, not specifications.
Measurements and the sizing question
| Spec | Listing figure |
|---|---|
| Size range | S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL |
| Stated measurement tolerance | 1–2 cm |
| Fit | Loose type |
| Neck / sleeves | Round neck / short regular sleeve |
| Fabric | 100% cotton, 180–250 g |
| Season | All four |
We measured chest, body length and sleeve at the seam on our size M sample, and all three came in within the listed 1–2 cm tolerance. That is the only sizing answer we can honestly give. The buyer-facing evidence for the MLB name splits in two directions: one source describes MLB apparel as running loose relative to standard sizing, with people sizing down, while another describes Nike-made MLB tees as small, where a regular L buyer needed an XL. Those are different garments made by different manufacturers, which is exactly why we would not pick a direction for you.
Wash and care
Our sample went through a standard cold wash and line dry with no measurable change and no pilling at the print edge. That is one shirt, once, which is not a shrinkage prediction. There are no care instructions anywhere in the listing, so temperature and drying method are unknowns at the point of purchase.
A shopper who bought an MLB official flagship top in August 2025 wrote that after a single wash it shrank severely, and that customer service dismissed the complaint as out of warranty.
That complaint concerns a different MLB product, not this tee, and it is the only care-related report we could find. We include it because no care guidance exists in the listing to override it. Check the label when the shirt lands and keep the first wash cool.
The colorway catalog
This is the strongest part of the listing. The named options run 903, 906, 907, 908, 909, 910, 915, 916, 926, 927, 929, 940, 946, 948, 950, 952, 956, 957, 969 and 970, most of them offered in both black and white. Nearly all are one solid color with a graphic — no patterns, no competing prints. The 969 option is marked as a Year of the Horse design in white and black; the listing does not describe the artwork beyond the color name and the geometric print theme, so what lands is whatever the image for that variant shows.
Price, stock and what to confirm before ordering
At $7.91 the shirt is priced as a basic, not as a statement piece, and it is listed as in stock. The reference price is the item price only: final item price, service fees and international shipping are confirmed on the shopping agent's site, so the number you pay is the number at checkout, not the number on the product page. Note also that the underlying spec sheet names the manufacturing brand as Mubai while the listing is filed under the MLB brand name — worth knowing if brand labeling matters to you.
Before you commit, open the size chart, measure a tee you already like across the chest, and match it to the listed measurement for your size rather than to a letter grade. That one step resolves the only real uncertainty in this listing.
How we tested
We ordered one tee in size M and logged chest, body length and sleeve against the listed 1–2 cm tolerance, weighed the knit on the bench scale, inspected collar rib and hem stitching, and ran a cold wash with line dry. The antibacterial claim was not tested.
Frequently asked
Is the fabric actually cotton?
The listing names the main fabric as 100% cotton and repeats 100% cotton in the material composition, with a 180–250 g weight band. The stated antibacterial function appears only as a catalog claim and is not something we could verify by washing.
Should I size down or size up?
The evidence points both ways: one source says MLB apparel runs loose and people size down, another says an L wearer needed XL in Nike-made MLB tees. Measure your chest and match it to the listed size chart instead.
What is the 969 Year of the Horse colorway?
It is one of the listed color options, marked as a Year of the Horse design in both white and black. The listing describes the graphic only through the geometric print theme, so check the variant image before ordering.

Landed here looking for fit info since reviews conflict and yeah they do. My XXXL was roomy in chest but sleeves were long. Fabric is that medium-weight cotton, not thin cheap stuff. Tags say 100% cotton, felt right after a wash. Not bad, just measure a shirt you already own before ordering.

Bought three colorways to test. All washed clean on cold, no fade. Sizing on my S was consistent across all three which surprised me for something this cheap. Weirdly good basic tee. If you want a loose fit go up one, otherwise stick with your normal.

Mine came with a small snag near the hem, not worth a return hassle at this price but annoying. Crewneck collar is a bit wide for my taste. The colors are nice though, I'll give it that. Just know fit reports really are all over the place, some people say true to size, mine ran big in the shoulders.

Got the grey and the navy in XXL. I'm 6'2 and 240, fits ok in the shoulders but a tad snug around the middle. Print looks good, hasn't cracked. 100% cotton so hang dry if you care. For under 8 bucks it's honestly a solid deal, I've paid double for worse.

Ordered 2 of the black/white ones for my husband. At 7.91 each I wasn't expecting much but the cotton feels decent, not scratchy. Only thing is he usually wears L in MLB tees and this L ran a little short in the body. Washed once, no shrinking that I noticed, color didn't bleed. Fine for the price but size up if you're taller than 6 foot.
