Editorial policy

Scope. Under this editorial policy, Yu-Poo covers dog waste disposal and odor-control gear: bags, dispensers, clips, waste stations, bin liners, cleaners and accessories. It does not cover veterinary care, training or nutrition. Any reader question outside that scope should be identified as outside the desk's lane.

Selection and sourcing. Categories are selected from reader questions, retail listings and mailbag themes. Where a category has more than five plausible options, the comparison approach is to compare leading sellers with a budget option and a specialist option. Under the sourcing rule, scored reviews must use products bought at retail with editorial funds. Brand-supplied samples must not enter scored reviews; unsolicited samples must be returned or logged separately as giveaways, never added to a scored test log. Manufacturer specifications must be treated as claims to check, not facts to repeat.

Review and disclosure. Scores require a responsible editor to use the records and a second reviewer to check numbers, price and certification claims. Advertising and affiliate placements must be handled separately from editorial decisions and must not carry promises of coverage or score. Paid trips, gifts above token value and sponsored review slots are not accepted under this standard.

Tools and corrections. Language tools would be limited to transcription and spelling support. Corrections must be dated and shown at the top of the page.
