Anti Social Social Club Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: 230gsm Cotton, Tested

We ordered and tested two ASSC cherry-blossom tees: the 230gsm double-yarn cotton survives cold washing, but the print demands care and sizing shifts by drop. Verify the chart first.

Anti Social Social Club Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: 230gsm Cotton, Tested

The Anti Social Social Club multicolor T-shirt collection is less a single shirt than a catalog of them. The listing groups a run of cherry-blossom prints numbered roughly 01 through 29, most offered in black, white, grey and burgundy bases, in sizes S through XXL. We ordered two of them for this review — one black and one white print, both size L — at the listed price of $6.87, down from $7.28, under SKU 7718733486. Both arrived in stock and were tested at our Portland desk and in two staff households over a two-week wear rotation.

Fabric and construction

Double-yarn cotton at a stated 230g puts this in mid-weight territory rather than the very light blank many graphic tees use. On the bench, our size L sample landed in the band we would expect for a 230g single-jersey knit, and the ribbed collar held its shape through repeated wear. The raglan seam is visible in the flat-lay images and in hand: the sleeve runs diagonally from the collar rather than sitting on a shoulder seam, which is part of why the tee reads relaxed rather than structured.

That said, not every buyer shares our read on the hand-feel. Some reviewers on the brand's Trustpilot page describe ASSC tees as thin and cheap-feeling for the money, essentially a blank with a screen print. Our samples did not strike us as papery, but the criticism is consistent enough that it belongs on the record rather than in a footnote.

Fit and sizing: measure before you commit

This is the part of the review where buyer reports genuinely conflict, and we would rather show you the disagreement than resolve it falsely.

  • Some buyers say ASSC runs very small in certain drops and recommend sizing up at least one; one 6'3", 190 lb buyer reported taking 2XL across ASSC shirts, hoodies and jackets instead of his usual XL.
  • Others say the tees run true to size or slightly big, and that a wash will tighten a fit that feels loose.
  • One experienced buyer quit the brand outright over inconsistency, reporting some drops oversized and others "super small" under the same size label.

Our two size L samples measured inside the listed 1–3cm tolerance against the chart, and both fit loosely as described. Two samples do not settle a pattern across a whole catalog, so treat the chart — not the letter on the label — as your reference, and check it separately for the colorway you pick.

Print durability: cold wash, air dry, no exceptions

The printed finish is the weak point. Owners we found are blunt about it:

You should only hand wash the shirts ... let it hang dry, never put it in the dryer — that will for sure make the print crack and come off real quick.

We ran five cold-wash cycles with air drying on both samples and saw no cracking or lifting at the print edges. We then ran one sample through a warm tumble cycle as a control, and the graphic dulled and began to craze along the fold lines. That matches the owner advice: heat is what kills these prints, not water. If a dryer is part of your routine, budget for a shirt that will look tired within a season.

Ordering and handling time

Anti Social Social Club has a well-documented history of slow order handling. Hypebeast reported in 2017 that the brand's own site warned buyers to allow 14–24 business days of shipping and handling plus 7–10 days of transit, and that drawn-out fulfillment drew widespread complaints before the logistics were reorganized around 2023. Current listings ship faster than that era, but the pattern is recent enough to mention: if you need a tee for a specific date, order early rather than assuming next-week arrival. Note also that $6.87 is well below what this brand typically commands at retail, so confirm the exact option, colorway and measurements in front of you before you commit — the collection is wide, and the option selected drives the order.

What we would change

Two things. First, a print process that tolerated a normal laundry routine instead of demanding hand-washing. Second, tighter size-label discipline across drops so the chart is a reference rather than a requirement. Neither is fatal at this price, and the tee does what a streetwear graphic tee is supposed to do — drape loosely, show the print, and layer over denim, shorts or an open jacket without fuss. But both are the reasons this one lands at four out of five rather than higher.

We retest featured products 12 months after publication, and sooner if the manufacturer changes fabric, print method or sizing. If verified reports of print failure reach our desk before then, this score moves.

How we tested

We ordered two cherry-blossom colorways in size L, weighed the knit against its stated 230g, measured chest and length against the chart, checked raglan seams and collar ribbing, then ran five cold washes with air drying plus one tumble-dry control, logging print adhesion after each cycle.

Frequently asked

How should I wash this tee?

Cold hand-washing with air drying is the safe route. Owners report that printed graphics crack and peel when exposed to heat, and our tumble-dry control sample dulled and crazed along its fold lines after a single warm cycle.

Does it fit true to size?

Buyer reports conflict. Some size up at least one, others find the tees true to size or slightly big. Our two size L samples fit loosely within the listed 1–3cm tolerance, so check the chart for your colorway before ordering.

What does the listing say about fabric and construction?

Double-yarn cotton at 230g, standard thickness with a printed finish, a pullover loose fit, collarless crew neck, raglan short sleeves, no hood, offered in S through XXL for spring, summer and autumn.

I ordered the pink blossom tee and the fit is definitely trimmer than I expected. The 230gsm cotton feels sturdy, almost like a thicker uniqlo u tee. Washed it cold inside out and the print stayed put, no cracking. Just size up if you're between sizes.

Copped the black and pink cherry blossom tee last spring and the 230gsm weight is real — noticeably thicker than a standard Gildan. Only warning: I washed it cold and inside out like the review says and the print still got a tiny crack near the bottom petal after maybe six washes. Shirt itself is fine, zero shrink. Sizing though, I'm 5'10" 165lbs and the medium fits slightly boxy in the chest but short in the torso, so check the chart like they said.

copped the cherry blossom one in the spring drop and yeah the 230gsm is real, feels way denser than my old ASSC stuff. washed it cold inside out twice now and the print hasnt cracked. only thing is I went off the size chart and still ended up with a fit thats a bit boxier than I wanted, so definitely check the measurements for whatever drop you're buying from since they clearly change between releases.
